Applications Open for NSW Aboriginal Land Council's Educational Scholarship

A new educational scholarship offered by the NSW Aboriginal Land Council is now open for applications from today, 26 August 2019.

The NSW Aboriginal Land Council Educational Scholarship (formerly the Freddy Fricke Scholarship) provides two $10,000 scholarships across the state.

The Scholarship will support NSW Aboriginal university students in their studies and is aimed at students in their penultimate year.

NSWALC Chair Anne Dennis said the Scholarship includes an additional paid internship at NSWALC.

"Our six-week internship gives Scholarship recipients valuable experience and support on their pathway from education into employment."

"The NSWALC internship will give you practical experience in your field of study and develop your work place skills and understanding of the Land Rights network," she said.

"That, in tandem with the Scholarship funds, is a fantastic opportunity for Aboriginal students in NSW."

The six-week internship is to be undertaken during January and February 2020 in a NSWALC Business Unit of the Scholarship recipient's discipline.

Fields of study may include law, finance, business, media & communications, human resources, land & environment, planning, policy or property management.

Aboriginal students interested in applying can access the application form here.

Applications for the NSWALC Educational Scholarship close at 5:00pm on 4 October 2019.
