
NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) has welcomed the reappointment of Senator Nigel Scullion as Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs in Prime Minister Scott Morrison's new Cabinet.
NSWALC Chair Roy Ah-See said Senator Scullion has remained a
strong and committed advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander people since becoming Indigenous Affairs Minister in
2013.
"Minister Scullion has been central to building a positive and
productive relationship between the Federal Government and the Land
Rights network, and I am very pleased to see him retaining this
crucial portfolio.
NSWALC enjoys a constructive and effective working relationship
with Minister Scullion," he said.
"Minister Scullion has shown himself to be a committed and
effective Minister, and NSWALC believes he has the experience and
skills to continue his important work on behalf of the Australian
