NSW Land Rights Chair appointed as Co-Chair of the PM's Indigenous Advisory Council

The Land Rights network in New South Wales has been further strengthened with the appointment of NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) Chair Roy Ah-See, as Co-Chair of the Prime Minister's Indigenous Advisory Council replacing Professor Chris Sarra.

Cr Ah-See was invited on to the PM's Advisory Council in 2017, and has remained focused on critical areas such as economic development, health, education, community safety and justice, culture, youth and employment.

Cr Ah-See's appointment as Co-Chair provides an excellent opportunity to solidify and advance the cause of Aboriginal people not only in New South Wales, but nationally.

"I am very proud of the work and achievements of the NSW Aboriginal Land Council and its 23,000 members, who I will continue to strive to serve as an elected representative," Cr Ah-See said.

"I realise that I will be stepping into big shoes, following my predecessor Prof. Sarra's departure.

"The roles that I have fulfilled to date position me well to take on this national role."

Cr Ah-See will take on the role of Co-Chair immediately, and will also remain at the helm of NSWALC.
