Utopia film to premiere at The Block in Redfern

One of the most extraordinary pieces of cinema to reveal the true plight of Aboriginal Australia will make its Australian premiere at the Block in Redfern, Sydney.
Utopia, a film by award-winning investigative journalist John Pilger pulls no punches as it explores the true depth of disadvantage and the ongoing fight for justice for Aboriginal people.
From calls for a treaty to deaths in custody, the Northern Territory Intervention and the Apology in 2008 by former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - the reality, no surprise to Black Australia, highlights the ongoing struggle suffered by the First Australians today.
The New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council is proud to acknowledge the significant contributions to the film made by staff from Tracker Magazine, the Council's land rights-based publication.
Utopia will premiere with a free community screening at The Block in Redfern on January 17th at 7pm. All are welcome to attend.
