Passing of Aboriginal leader Bobby McLeod.

It is with sadness and deep regret that we inform the Network of the passing on the weekend of Aboriginal leader and legend, Bobby McLeod.

Bobby was a significant identity in the struggle for Land Rights here in NSW.

He was also well known as a singer, songwriter, performer, writer and political activist and along with the Doonooch Dancers performed at the opening ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Bobby's death will be deeply felt by Aboriginal people and the wider community in New South Wales, and in particular the South Coast.

NSWALC will forward advice to the Network on the details of the funeral service for Bobby once they are confirmed.

I have attached a Media Release issued by NSWALC Chairperson Bev Manton for your information.
