Sorry Business - Passing of Aunty Coral See

It is with profound sadness that the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) informs the network and mourns the passing of our much-loved and cherished colleague and sister Aunty Coral See.

Coral passed away peacefully at her home last Friday evening, watching the footy she loved.

Coral was well known and respected across the network and left a lasting impression on everyone who was blessed with meeting her.

Throughout her 23 years working with NSWALC, and especially the past decade on the front desk, literally thousands were touched by her warm and friendly smile, her absolute passion for the Land Rights movement and her zest for having a good yarn.

Many of those stories revolved around her much-loved family.

"Coral's passing has hit us all very hard. She was a dear colleague, a dear friend, but she was so much more than that. She was family," NSWALC Deputy Chair Anne Dennis said.

"I just can't imagine walking into the NSWALC office in Parramatta and not being greeted and put in my place by Coral."

"This is a time for us to reflect and a reminder to cherish the ones you love - your family."

"We again extend our deepest condolences to all Coral's family."

A memorial service to celebrate Coral's life will be held in Coonamble on Friday 21 June 2019. Further details will be distributed through a Network Message early next week.
