Dear LALC Chairpersons,

The Council has recently commenced planning of the 2013 Statewide Conference. This will also coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act

We will be holding the Statewide Conference at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley from the 24-27 June 2013.

Building on the success of the past 2 Statewide Conferences, the Council is seeking your input into the planning of the conference. We would like to hear of any suggestions or topics that you would like to discuss or have information provided on.

Of course, the planning of the Statewide Conference is a big job. We will communicate with the Network over the coming weeks and months leading up to the Conference to ensure that everyone attending will have as much information as possible.

We will do this through Network Messages, information in Tracker and on the NSWALC Website.

On the NSWALC Website, we will have a dedicated page for the Statewide Conference - here you will be able to:

  • Get up to date information on the Conference including the venue;
  • View the agenda and speakers;
  • View Exhibitors;
  • Register your delegates from the end of March 2013;
  • Provide feedback/suggestions on all aspects of the Conference planning; and
  • After the conference, view all presentations, speeches and photos.

Until the Conference Website is up and running (Mid March), any comments or suggestions can be sent to the dedicated email address below. These 2 important sources are:

NSWALC's Website: www.alc.org.au

Dedicated Conference Email: conference@alc.org.au

As with previous years, each LALC will be able to send 2 representatives to the Conference. It will be the LALCs responsibility to manage who will attend on behalf of your LALC.

I am sure that you will be keen for more information on the Conference. As things happen, I will keep you informed.

In closing, the Council feels that your input into this year's conference is important to make it a success. Please share your ideas and thoughts with us; let's make this conference a good one.

Thanks.

Chairman Stephen Ryan
