NSWALC YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Yiradhu marang (Good day) North Coast and Western LALCs.

In 2019 the NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) approved the establishment of a Youth Advisory Committee to provide advice on issues impacting on young Aboriginal people in NSW and strategies to increase their participation in the Land Council system.

The Youth Advisory Committee is currently made up of 7 inspiring youth representatives who have been successfully advocating for the interests of young NSW Aboriginal peoples.

Committee members recently attended the Expert Mechanism of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Geneva and advocated on a range of issues affecting young Aboriginal peoples in NSW including access to education, housing and the implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

NSWALC seeks to ensure that the Youth Advisory Committee has representatives from all 9 of the NSWALC regions.

NSWALC is currently seeking applications from young LALC members based in the North Coast and Western regions to join the Youth Advisory Committee. Applications are due 5pm Friday 6th September 2019.

Below you will find links to the info pack; please share with young people in your regions:
