45 years ago, a young history teacher arrived in Australia from the United States to start a new life.

Elaine Syron migrated to Australia with her-then husband as one of many people filling a shortage of teachers in New South Wales.

Fresh from the burgeoning civil rights movement in the United States, Elaine sought out Aboriginal people in metropolitan Sydney, to learn about their place in that larger global movement.

What she found was the struggle for Land Rights.
