Ila Toomey (She/her)

Ila Toomey is a Wiradjuri woman living in Dubbo.

Ila says that Aboriginal youth need more safe places, after school groups and educational activities to engage with each other and increase their community involvement and motivation.

She believes in the power of accessing a range of activities including sport, to promote healthy choices and positive lifestyles.

Ila is a member of Dubbo Local Aboriginal Land Council, is training in the IPROWD police training course, is an Indigenous Community Basketball referee, and regularly volunteers at community sporting events, including the NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout.
