Murrin Bridge LALC thanks land rights network for support

2 February, 2026

On behalf of the Murrin Bridge Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC), the NSW Aboriginal Land Council would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the Land Rights Network for its ongoing support amid the recent tragedy in Lake Cargelligo.

Over this past week, Murrin Bridge LALC has been focused on supporting the families of the victims as well as the Lake Cargelligo, Euabalong West and Murrin Bridge communities through an unimaginable period of grief and devastation. The continued support of the NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Network and local LALC partners has been invaluable in enabling this work.

Murrin Bridge LALC also wishes to thank everyone who has extended their condolences and shown solidarity with the community. It has been deeply comforting to know that the Network and community partners are all standing alongside Lake Cargelligo and its surrounding communities during this incredibly difficult time.

While this investigation is still underway, we again ask that anyone with information about the incident contact Central West Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or submit a report online at https://nswpf.au.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/lakecargelligoincident22012026

Our thoughts remain with the Lake Cargelligo and Murrin Bridge LALC communities during this time.
