Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) Training

NSWALC’s vision is to improve the quality of life for everyone in the LALC Network and putting Aboriginal community first.

Providing training opportunities for the LALC Network contributes to successful outcomes and better working processes. The resilience of the Land Rights System is underpinned by a strong and healthy Land Council network (NSWALC LALC Capacity Development Plan).

Training provides:

NSWALC continues to facilitate training across the Local Aboriginal Land Council network to help build capacity and provide knowledge and skills for LALC Board members and LALC Staff to fulfill their roles and responsibilities in the LALC.

Training priorities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Business
  • Financial management
  • Information Technology and
  • LALC Housing Management

Capacity Development programs include:

The NSW Network Services Unit is continuously developing and producing future training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the LALCs across the network. Network Services Unit's capacity development team will continue researching and developing different programs and applications to deliver and improve course material for the most effective outcomes.

If anything, the lesson learnt through the Covid-19 pandemic is that it is essential to embrace technology and methodologies to continue providing current and relevant information to our hard-working LALC staff and Board members.
