17 March, 2025

The NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) encourages members of the Land Rights Network to nominate for this prestigious Prize (Prize) celebrating the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems to science, Australia and humanity.

The Prize is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples undertaking projects that benefit their people, communities or place, elevate First Nations knowledge systems, demonstrate sincere connection and contribute to solving a significant challenge through the practice and preservation of our knowledge systems.

Prize Recipients will receive $250,000, and national recognition of their work as part of the 2025 Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science.

Local Aboriginal Land Councils perform vitally important roles in their communities every day with preserving, protecting and promoting Aboriginal Culture and Heritage and maximising the social, cultural, and economic potential of our land and people.

This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your work, or a person integral to your work, at a national level. The first nomination stage closes soon on Thursday 20 March 2025 at 5pm.
