NSWALC Statewide Conference Rescheduled to March 2026

10 July, 2025

The New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) wishes to advise the Land Rights network that the planned Statewide Conference, originally scheduled for October 2025, will now be held on the 23 and 24 March 2026. The conference will be hosted in Parramatta.

This revised timing will allow the Council to better prepare solutions to support and assist with the needs of Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs). It also provides an opportunity for NSWALC Councillors to engage with their communities and listen to the priorities and concerns that should shape the Statewide Conference agenda.

In the interim, Regional Forums will proceed as scheduled. These forums will serve as important spaces for early dialogue and discussion, ensuring that the voices of members across the state contribute to the development of a shared vision and effective strategies.

“We want this conference to truly reflect the voices of our people,” said NSWALC Chairperson Raymond Kelly.

“By taking the time to listen, to walk alongside our communities, and to prepare properly, we can make sure the Statewide Conference delivers outcomes that matter — not just for our members, but for our future generations.”

NSWALC remains firmly committed to activating land to create stronger outcomes for LALC members and the broader Aboriginal community. By shifting the conference date, NSWALC aims to ensure that the Statewide Conference is well-informed, well-resourced, and focused on practical outcomes that reflect community priorities.

Further updates on the March 2026 Statewide Conference will be provided in due course.
