The NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) is proud to celebrate the recipients of the 2025–2026 NSWALC Regional Events Grants.
This year, 22 incredible Aboriginal Community Organisations have received a grant through the NSW Regional Events Grants program and will be bringing vibrant events to communities throughout NSW across the next 12 months.
The 2025-2026 Regional Events Grants Program holds a record-breaking milestone for NSWALC, with the highest number of applications received and supported in the program’s history.
These events honour and uplift Aboriginal cultures and sporting excellence, platforms Aboriginal voices, and bring people together for moments of regional significance on Country.
Cultural highlights include Bathurst LALC’s Winter on the Wambuul, the Giiyong Festival, Darkinjung LALC’s NAIDOC Day 2025, Casino Boolangle LALC’s Kangaroo Festival, and Mogo LALC’s Mogodha NAIDOC Big Day Out 2025.
Other notable events include Northern United Rugby League Football Club’s Lismore Aboriginal KO, Colly Connected Indigenous Corporation’s Collarenebri Cultural Sports Carnival 2026, and Eden LALC’s Next Generation Jigamy NAIDOC Schools Cultural Experience for local youth.
The NSWALC Regional Events Grants Program forms part of our Community Benefits Scheme, enabled under section 108 of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW), to support and strengthen community-driven initiatives.
Together, these events showcase the strength, pride and diversity of Aboriginal communities across NSW.
