NSWALC Educational Scholarships: Applications Now Open to Support the Next Generation of Aboriginal Leaders

4 August, 2025

The NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) is proud to relaunch its Educational Scholarship Program for 2025 – and we’re calling on Aboriginal students from across New South Wales to apply.

What’s New in 2025?
Key changes include:

  • Increased Financial Support: Two scholarships are available, each now worth $15,000 per year (increased from $10,000).
  • Part-Time Student Eligibility: All students who study full-time or part-time, at university or TAFE can now apply.
  • Paid Internships with Flexibility: Recipients will now gain valuable real-world experience through a six-week paid internship at NSWALC as part of the scholarship, with flexible timing and a choice of business units.

NSWALC Chairperson Raymond Kelly, and past scholarship recipient, shared:

“This scholarship gave me the opportunity to focus on my studies and grow into leadership.  It helped me build the foundation for my career – and eventually become the Chairperson of the NSW Aboriginal Land Council. These scholarships are about unlocking that same potential in the next generation – and who knows, we may be supporting a future Premier or Prime Minister.”
