NSWALC Annual Report 2024 – 2025 now available online

4 November, 2025

The NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) Annual Report 2024-2025 is now available here.

Our report was presented to The Hon. David Harris MP, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Treaty, on Friday, 31 October 2025.

Some highlights from the NSWALC Annual Report 2024-2025 include:

  • Lodgement of more than 3,000 new land claims covering 13,778 parcels of land equating to 965 hectares of land returned. 104 of these claims are granted or partly granted.
  • Completed assessments of more than 36,000 parcels across NSW, including a comprehensive assessment of the Wiradjuri nation area. This involved the identification of 12,287 lots by 29 LALCs, and resulted in 3,837 parcels being claimed.
  • Approval of $8m in grant funding for Aboriginal Communities across NSW.
  • $140,000 in funding was given to 18 events held across the State via the NSWALC Regional Event Grants Program.
  • $225,000 in funding was given in sponsorship to Statewide events.
  • Supported housing through the construction of 30 community housing dwellings under the Social Housing Acceleration Fund (SHAF) on LALC land.
  • Rolled out the 225 energy efficiency upgrades under the AHO Energy Efficiency Grant Program across four LALC Communities, including rooftop solar, air-conditioning units, fans, and heat pump hot water systems.
  • Continued success of the NSWALC online portal, Corroborate, which has helped to reduce the compliance burden by simplifying the system and providing LALCs with access to tools and processes to enhance early identification of challenges.
  • Continued advocacy for increased Aboriginal ownership, control and management of lands and waters, fisheries and other natural resources, National Parks, and lands used by the broader public.

We look forward to delivering on our Strategic Plan in the 2025-2026 year and will continue to maintain and develop relationships across our communities and with Local Aboriginal Land Councils.
