Network Message: NSWALC Youth Advisory Committee Statement

The NSW Aboriginal Land Council Youth Advisory Committee stands with the Aboriginal Land Rights network in opposing the Crown Land Management Amendment Bill 2026.

Land Rights were not handed to our people. They were fought for by generations who refused to accept dispossession as destiny.

Our old people stood, marched, organised and carried the burden of that fight so that future generations would benefit from the land they fought for. They fought with dignity, and determination for the right of Aboriginal people to shape our own future.

The NSWALC Youth Advisory Committee calls on the NSW Government to withdraw the Bill in its current form.

We do not oppose progress.

We reject any notion of “progress” that requires Aboriginal people to relinquish hard‑won rights to streamline government processes.

We stand with our communities.

We stand with the Land Rights network.

We stand for our future and generations to come.
