NSW Land Rights represented on PM's Advisory Council

9 February 2017

The Land Rights network in New South Wales will have a national voice with the appointment of NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) Chair Roy Ah-See to the Prime Minister's Advisory Council.

Cr Ah-See said he looked forward to working with other appointees and getting on with the job of tackling the key issues around education, economic development, health, community safety and justice, early childhood, culture, youth and employment.

"As the elected Chair of the largest member-based Aboriginal organisation in Australia, I will join the Indigenous Advisory Council with a mandate to speak on issues affecting Aboriginal peoples.

"The Land Rights network I lead is unique in the way it delivers self-determination and economic independence for Aboriginal peoples.

"I'm keen to bring that knowledge to the table and I look forward to working with other Council members to improve the lives of Aboriginal peoples in Australia and equip future generations with the skills to make lasting contributions to our cultural and economic life."
