On 8 October 2024, a LinkedIn post titled “Questions Continue to Arise Over Governance at NSW Aboriginal Land Council Amid Alleged ICAC Investigation” was published, containing false and defamatory statements about the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC). The article makes unfounded claims regarding governance and transparency.
NSWALC is committed to and has continually demonstrated transparency and integrity in all its operations and will take necessary steps to protect its reputation with false claims.
In light of these issues, NSWALC formally requested that the publisher take the following actions within 28 days of receiving of the notice:
The false imputations made in this publication not only damage the credibility of NSWALC but also jeopardise its relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities and philanthropic organisations that support our mission. Furthermore, these defamatory statements adversely affect the reputations of NSWALC Councillors, the executive leadership team, and staff.
