As Australia approaches the Voice referendum on 14 October, NSWALC would like to reach out, acknowledge the current challenging times and provide further resources to guide you over the next two weeks.
The referendum leadup has us all facing an extraordinarily difficult time in our communities, with misinformation via media outlets and social media stirring up hostility and fear.
NSWALC supports the Yes campaign for the Voice referendum, and acknowledges that our families, friends and communities may not be voting the same way. However, respectful dialogue on and off social media is vital more than ever, and information from reputable sources is key to discussing issues and respecting different views.
We hope the links below are useful, including a new Frequently Asked Questions sheet produced by NSWALC, some previous Network Messages and Media Releases, and importantly, some wellbeing resources for community, and our younger community members.
