
2026 Aboriginal Elders Olympics
NSWALC is proud to be supporting the 24th annual 2026 Aboriginal Elders Olympics.
Hosted on Yaegl Country, the 2026 event will see more than 400 Aboriginal Elders from across NSW come together in Maclean to take part.
The event will be held from Wednesday 11 March and Thursday 12 March 2026, and will give teams from across NSW the opportunity to claim the Aboriginal Elders Olympics title and have the opportunity to host the 2027 event.
Eligibility requirements
To participate in the Aboriginal Elders Olympics, all participants must:
- Be 50 years of age or older
- Have medical clearance from their regular GP
Each team can include up to 10 participants and one reserve participant. A team fee of $1,000 is required to help cover the costs of hosting the Elders Olympics.
Important information
All teams are responsible for organising and paying for their own transport and accommodation during the event.
All participants will be invited to attend an Elders Presentation dinner, which will be held on Thursday, 12 March.
All Elders Olympics teams are encouraged to create a team banner to display at the Olympics and for the banner march during the Elders Olympics opening ceremony. The team with the best banner will receive a prize.
Registration closing date
Registrations must be complete by 5:00 pm Friday 16th January 2026.Â
