NSW Aboriginal Land Council is calling on all Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs), communities, Network and supporters to prepare to stand together in a strong, united front as we protest the Crown Lands Bill.
Taking place next Wednesday, 6 May 2026, in Sydney, we will gather at the northern end of Hyde Park (Archibald Fountain) from 11:30 am, before marching to NSW Parliament.
This is an important opportunity for communities across the state to come together, show unity, and call for changes to the bill. We want to ensure our voices are heard and that our perspectives are fairly represented.
Protest Information:
A full overview of the protest details can be found in the factsheet linked here. To also view the ALS protesting fact sheet view here.
Reimbursement for LALCs:
As a reminder, Local Aboriginal Land Councils will be reimbursed for travel costs up to $2,500 per LALC for attendance at the protest.
To access reimbursement, LALC CEOs must:
- Provide written confirmation of attendance
- Submit an invoice to NSWALC
- Please send confirmations and invoices to: crownlandsbill@alc.org.au
If you are unable to attend in person, there are still important ways to show your support. You can sign the petition, contact your local Member of Parliament (MP) and Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs), and make it clear that Aboriginal land rights must be protected and strengthened, not wound back.
