Member: Mea-mei Stanbury
Sydney Newcastle Region

Mea-mei Stanbury is a Wiradjuri/Ngiyampaa woman and is the NSWALC Youth Advisory Committee member for the Sydney Newcastle Region.

She is passionate about advocating for young Aboriginal people and supporting their voices, and believes artwork is a powerful way to connect, yarn, and share stories while gaining new perspectives.

Mea-Mei’s goal is to listen to what matters most to young mob across NSW and work towards addressing these issues head-on. She found her voice through art -  paint, draw, and create - and wants to encourage other young Aboriginal people to do the same.

Mea-mei wants to use her skills to engage and inspire other young people across NSW LALCs, encouraging them to find the confidence to share their own voices and visions.
