Announcing the new NSWALC Youth Advisory Committee

The NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) is very pleased to introduce the  NSWALC Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) 2022-2024 to the Local Aboriginal Land Council network.

The NSWALC Youth Advisory Committee was established in 2019 and consists of nine young people aged 18-25 from each of the nine NSWALC Regions.

The YAC provides advice and makes recommendations to the NSWALC Council in a range of areas including regional and state issues of importance, programs and services that impact young Aboriginal people, and strategies to increase the awareness and participation of young Aboriginal people in the Aboriginal Land Council system.

Committee members are appointed by the NSWALC Council after an Expression of Interest (EOI) process and serve a two-year-term.

Many congratulations to the Youth Advisory Committee members, who are committed to elevating the voices of youth across NSWALC and within Aboriginal communities.

The new YAC is:

  • Kaitaia Clark, Western Region
  • Kyiesha Faulkner, Sydney/Newcastle Region
  • Toumanda Fohrman, Mid North Coast Region
  • Illarrah Roberts, North Coast Region
  • Latrell Allan, Northern Region
  • Amanda Reid, South Coast Region
  • Elijah Ingram, Wiradjuri Region
  • Ila Toomey, Central Region

EOIs are open for young peoples in the North West Region. Please email Sarah Doyle at policy@alc.org.au for more information and an application form.
