Congratulations Kurtley Beale

2 September, 2011

The Chairman of the NSW Aboriginal Land Council has congratulated Wallabies' star fullback Kurtley Beale on winning the John Eales Medal overnight.

"Kurtley is an inspiration to Australians everywhere," Chairman Ryan said.

"In particular, he's an inspiration for our Boorie ('children' in the Wiradjuri language), who see in Kurtley what can be achieved with a little bit of talent, and a lot of hard work.

"There aren't many level playing fields for Aboriginal people, but the sporting arena is certainly one of them.

"It's the area of Aboriginal over-representation of which all Australians - black and white - can be very proud of.

"So on behalf of the NSW Aboriginal land rights network, congratulations Kurtley Beale and keep the fantastic, inspiring work.

"Go the Wallabies!"
