NSW Aboriginal Land Council Chair Appointed to Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation

NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) welcomes Indigenous Affairs Minister, Nigel Scullion’s recent announcement, that NSWALC Chair Roy Ah-See has been appointed as a Director on the Board of the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC).

He brings a wealth of experience to the ILSC Board including his expertise on the Advisory Committee for the Australian Law Reform Commission’s Inquiry into the incarceration rates of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Councillor Ah-See said that land, water and connection to country are integral to the empowerment of Indigenous people.

“The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation’s priorities of acquisition and management of land and projects that deliver social and economic outcomes are a perfect fit for my experience in the Land Rights network.

Access to country, expansion of the Indigenous estate and improved management and development of land are vital to maximise opportunities and benefits to our people.

“I look forward to being part of a strong Board committed to creating meaningful long-term business, employment and training opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.”
