Senator Nigel Scullion retains Indigenous Affairs portfolio in new Prime Minister’s Cabinet

NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) has welcomed the reappointment of Senator Nigel Scullion as Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs in Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s new Cabinet.


NSWALC Chair Roy Ah-See said Senator Scullion has remained a strong and committed advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people since becoming Indigenous Affairs Minister in 2013.


“Minister Scullion has been central to building a positive and productive relationship between the Federal Government and the Land Rights network, and I am very pleased to see him retaining this crucial portfolio.


NSWALC enjoys a constructive and effective working relationship with Minister Scullion,” he said.


“Minister Scullion has shown himself to be a committed and effective Minister, and NSWALC believes he has the experience and skills to continue his important work on behalf of the Australian Government” Cr. Ah-See said.
