Have Your Say in the Upcoming Federal Election

NSWALC would like to remind all members of the upcoming federal election and the importance of being enrolled to vote.

The electoral roll closes on  Thursday 18 April at 8pm.

If you miss this deadline you will not be eligible to vote in the upcoming Federal Election on 18 May 2019.

Don't miss this opportunity to have your say.

To enrol to vote, or to update your enrolment if you have recently moved, go to the website of the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) at:

https://aec.gov.au/enrol/

Alternatively, you can download the following form and return to any AEC office:

https://www.aec.gov.au/enrol/files/er016w-nsw.pdf

Forms are also available from any Australia Post or AEC office.

The following people are eligible to vote in the Federal election.

  • you are an Australian citizen
  • aged 18 years and over, and
  • have lived at your address for at least one month

There are also opportunities to work as a polling official at the election. More details are available here:

https://www.aec.gov.au/employment/working-at-elections/index.htm

NSWALC encourages all Aboriginal people in NSW to enrol to vote if they are eligible and have a say in the future of the Australia, and most importantly to stand up for the issues that affect our People and our Communities.  It is essential that our voices are heard.
