Join the NSW Aboriginal Land Council Youth Advisory Committee

18 October, 2024

Great news! The NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) has extended the application deadline for the 2024 Youth Advisory Committee (YAC). You now have until Wednesday November 13, 2024, to apply.

This is an incredible chance for young people to boost their skills and make the difference. As a YAC member, you’ll tackle pressing issues for young Aboriginal people, and help amplify voices within the Land Rights Network.

Former YAC members have truly shone, delivering powerful speeches at prestigious events like the United Nations Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP) and Black Parliament at Parliament House in Sydney. Your voice could be next.

The YAC is made up of nine passionate individuals, one from each of the nine NSWALC Regions. Together, you’ll provide valuable advice to NSWALC on matters that impact young Aboriginal people and create innovative, community-led strategies to address these challenges.

We invite all young Aboriginal individuals aged 18 to 25, who are members of a Local Aboriginal Land Council and have a fire in their belly for advocacy, to step up and apply for this exciting 2-year term.

For more details, check out alc.org.au/yac, and don’t forget to share this fantastic opportunity with the young people in your community.

Applications for the 2024 YAC close on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
