NAIDOC WEEK 2026 – ‘50 Years of Deadly’

NAIDOC Week 2026 commences this Sunday, 5 July, with this year’s theme, ’50 Years of Deadly’, celebrating five decades of NAIDOC Week and recognising the strength, resilience, leadership and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC Week is an important opportunity to recognise, celebrate and learn from the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is also a time to raise awareness of the ongoing fight for positive change and the importance of standing strong and connected.

As we celebrate 50 years of NAIDOC, NSWALC acknowledges the Elders who have driven and led change in our communities for generations, and whose strength and leadership continue to inspire us today.

As we have seen through our collective fight against the proposed Crown Lands Management Amendment Bill, now is a time to stand together and ensure our voices are heard. The spirit of NAIDOC Week reflects what we are striving to achieve through this campaign: unity, strength and self-determination for our communities.

We are united together. Through NAIDOC Week and beyond, we will continue powerful conversations that protect our rights and celebrate our culture.

NSWALC wishes everyone a happy NAIDOC Week.
