Network Message | CROWN LANDS REMINDER: Have Your Say on the Crown Lands Management Amendment Bill by 31 July

The New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) is reminding the Aboriginal Land Rights Network that the consultation period for the proposed Crown Land Management Amendment Bill closes this Friday, 31 July 2026.

NSWALC encourages all LALCs to make a submission with feedback before the consultation closes at the end of this week.

This is a critical opportunity to ensure the collective voice of the NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Network is heard and that our opposition is documented. The proposed changes will have impacts on Aboriginal land rights in the State – every submission helps ensure our voices are heard.

Your submission will help strengthen our fight to secure fair and meaningful amendments while protecting Aboriginal Land rights and upholding the NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983.

If you are yet to lodge a submission, please do so before 31 July.

Two ways to lodge a submission:

  1. Return the submission to NSWALC via policy@alc.org.au, and we can submit on your behalf
  2. Submit directly to the NSW Government by  emailing your feedback to bill.consult@crownland.nsw.gov.au

We thank everyone who has already submitted their feedback. We will continue to keep the Network informed and provide updates as the consultation progresses and further developments arise.

If you have questions about the consultation process, please get in touch at: policy@alc.org.au
