NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Councillor for the Mid North Coast Region, Cr Malcolm (Cal) Davis.
A Biripi and Dunghutti man, Cr Davis has been involved in the Land Rights movement since the start of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act in 1983.
Cr Davis joins NSWALC with vast experience across the Aboriginal Land Rights sector. He previously served as CEO of Forster LALC and spent more than a decade at NSWALC in senior roles, including Regional Councillor, Deputy CEO, and Acting CEO.
As previously announced, longstanding Mid North Coast Region Councillor, Peter Smith, recently announced his retirement from NSWALC, having served as Councillor for the Mid North Coast Region for 15 years.
We wish to thank again Peter Smith for his dedication and commitment to the Land Rights movement in NSW and welcome incoming Cr Davis to the role. We are looking forward to seeing him represent his communities and bring a wealth of experience to the Council.
