Telecommunications contracts with Telstra

A number of Local Aboriginal Land Councils have made enquiries to the NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) about telecommunication issues including telephone and internet connectivity.

NSWALC wishes to advise that as a result of a contract the State body has with Telstra, Local Aboriginal Land Councils are eligible for government rates with Telstra if they wish to enter into their own contract with Telstra.

NSWALC recommends Local Aboriginal Land Councils consider carefully whether the Telstra government rates are more advantageous or competitive for their particular needs when reviewing their own telecommunications arrangements and also when entering into new telecommunications contracts with service providers as this may result in significant cost savings for them.
