Were you affected by the floods?

January 31, 2011

The Queensland floods were, by all counts, devastating. But it was not just a disaster for those who live north of the border.

Flood waters also rose in northern NSW, affecting, in some cases, whole communities.

The residents of Boggabilla and Toomelah were both evacuated, and for some, had the heart breaking experience of returning to damaged properties. Now many also face the prospect of a huge clean up.

Most recently, Aboriginal residents in north-western Victoria and south Western NSW, have set up a camp as they await rising flood waters.

NSWALC is launching a new publication in March, with a strong focus on community. We are very interested in hearing about your experiences during the floods, and how the big clean up is going.

If you were evacuated or affected by flooding in NSW, and would like to be heard, send an email to Amy McQuire at amy.mcquire@alc.org.au or call 9689 4444.
