Serving Our Country – Professor John Maynard

Professor John Maynard is a Worimi man, a historian and a Director of the Wollotuka Institute at the University of Newcastle.

In this ANZAC Centenary year, under a national Australia Research Council grant, John is a researcher on the project, ‘Serving Our Country: a history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the defence of Australia’.

We spoke to John about the project and the vital role Indigenous people played through the defence force.
