Three Months until the NSW Aboriginal Land Council Elections

The NSW Aboriginal Land Council election date has been set for Saturday, 24 February 2024.

The NSW Electoral Commission will run the election.

Key Dates

  • Close of Rolls – 6 December 2023
  • Nominations Open – 2 January 2024
  • Postal Vote Applications Open – 8 January 2024
  • Nominations Close – 30 January 2024 (Noon)
  • Election Day – Saturday, 24 February 2024

Aboriginal Land Rights Amendment Regulation 2023

Amendments were recently made to the Aboriginal Land Rights Amendment Regulation relating to the NSWALC election which will take place on 24 February 2023. The amendments commenced on 10 November 2023.

Amendments were made to clauses relating to Local Aboriginal Land Council membership rolls, postal voting and the appointment of electoral officers.
