Videos show benefits of Corroborate portal

Videos explaining the benefits of NSW Aboriginal Land Council’s (NSWALC) online portal, Corroborate are available.

The online portal was launched earlier this year as part of the deliverables under NSWALC’s 2022- 2026 Strategic Plan. Providing support to LALCs is also an essential tenet of NSWALC’s Community Outcomes model, which has been underway since July 2023.

NSWALC developed the Corroborate portal to provide LALCs with access to resources and to reduce the compliance burden on LALCs by simplifying the system and supporting LALCs to be self-managing and self-sufficient.

Gandangara LALC (GLALC) has been successfully utilising the portal and made helpful suggestions during the pilot.

“With NSWALC, it’s great to be in partnership to trial systems particularly technology that we’re able to look at to drive more efficient processes within our organisation,’’ GLALC CEO Melissa Williams said. “Corroborate is a system that allows us to have controls around our risks and just make sure that we’re able to support the claims that we make as a business, particularly around our audits and reporting. It’s a very important tool to support compliance in an organisation,’’ Melissa says in the video

As a result of the continual network feedback, NSWALC is currently in the process of implementing further changes. These changes will take effect when the next reporting period becomes available. Once the changes have been finalised and tested, the Network will be updated on the new procedures, which will further streamline the process.

NSWALC CEO Yuseph Deen is also excited about the future of Corroborate, “it’s a new way of working with the Land Rights Network,’’ he said, allowing a greater focus on LALC self-sufficiency and self-management.

Corroborate will continue to evolve, serving as a one-stop shop for compliance and resources tailored to the needs of the network. Feedback is crucial in this process.
