Handy Election Giveaway On the Way to Eligible Voters’ Letterbox
Keep an eye out on the post for a letter about the upcoming NSWALC Election. We think you’ll find it extremely handy!
NSWALC and the New South Wales Electoral Commission sent out an important information kit to all eligible voting members last week which you should be receiving soon – if you haven’t already.
In it you’ll find details about how you can MAKE YOUR MARK on the future for all Aboriginal people in New South Wales by voting in this year’s election.
It contains polling booth information, a list of candidates in your region and details about how you can pre-poll vote and lodge a postal vote.
Handy right? Well in honour of that, each letter will contain a special edition hand print fridge magnet to help you save the date to remind you to MAKE YOUR MARK on 30 November.
The hand print magnet was commissioned by NSWALC, using the original design created by talented teenage Menindee artist Taya Biggs.
Taya’s incredible artwork has been used as the branding inspiration and theme for this year’s election. Appropriately, it is titled “Coming Together. Sharing Knowledge. Fighting for Rights.”
You can check out her brilliant work on her Facebook page HERE or on Instagram HERE. While you’re there, give her a follow and a shout out to support her exciting journey in creating authentic Aboriginal art.
Taya’s hand print has also inspired the posters you may have spotted across the state over the past couple of months promoting the election. A new batch of posters and information flyers have been distributed to Aboriginal Land Councils and organisations across New South Wales. They contain a list of all polling booth locations where you can vote within each region.
You can also download them yourself on the NSWALC website by CLICKING HERE.
We look forward to seeing you at a polling booth on 30 November!
