Statewide Conference 2026
The NSWALC Statewide Conference provides a forum that brings LALCs together from across the State to reconnect, collaborate and set strategic priorities for the future of NSW Land Rights.
This year, the Conference was held on the 23-25th of March, 2026 - a week before the Crown Land Management Amendment Bill (the Bill) was introduced to NSW Parliament, by stealth.
If the Bill passes unchanged, the amendments will erode Land Rights in NSW and overturn more than 40 years of hard work by the Aboriginal Land Rights Network to return land to our people.
With Aboriginal Land Rights in NSW under attack, the Statewide Conference pivoted to discuss at length with the Network how to activate, stay informed and oppose the Bill.
On Day One, delegates moved and supported a motion from the floor calling for NSWALC to take action in response to the proposed amendments.
On Day Two, the Network organised in Martin Place for a press conference to publicly express our opposition to the proposed amendments. The Land Rights Network united in a show of strength to oppose the Bill.
Day Three returned to our planned programming, hearing from Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) leaders, Treaty Commissioners and our Youth Advisory Committee.
Thank you to the Network, volunteers and of course our MC, Stan Grant, for delivering, not only a successful but powerful event.
