The New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) confirms the NSW Government has today heard the calls from the Land Rights Network and has extended the consultation window for the Crown Lands Management Amendment Bill until Friday 31 July.
This announcement comes following requests from NSWALC and LALCs to extend the window and allow for proper consultation on the proposed amendments. The amendments were sent to the Network by the NSW Government for review on Friday 19 June 2026.
NSWALC welcomes this announcement as the first step in listening to the calls from the Network for genuine consultation regarding the Crown Lands Management Amendment Bill.
NSWALC and the wider Aboriginal Land Rights Network remain in opposition to the discriminatory elements of the Bill. The Bill still contains provisions that would adversely affect Aboriginal land rights.
We again thank the Network for its continued advocacy, unity and mobilisation against the Bill.
Together we stand, divided we fall.
